There are a number of theories I could come up with here, but I’ll leave the hypothesizing to you guys. Auburn’s Turf Team posted a photo of what they claim are cremated human remains that were dumped on the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium after the Tigers’ big victory over Alabama this past Saturday. Seriously.

Before you ask, no, they don’t belong to Tide coach Nick Saban. His team’s chances at another BCS title though…well maybe.

SEC’s Mike Slive Says He’ll Be Wearing A Green Tie To The SEC Title Game To Support Michigan State

Matt Lombardi

Whether or not you agree that Florida State and Ohio State are the two best college football teams in the country, it’s become obvious that the Seminoles and Buckeyes simply need to win their respective conference title games this Saturday to reach the BCS National Championship Game. Should that happen, the SEC’s streak of consecutive BCS championships – now at seven – would be snapped. Commissioner Mike Slive, who rarely sits in such a vulnerable position, will make it known who he is rooting for this weekend.

Slive told Clay Travis that he’ll be wearing a green tie to show support for Michigan State in the Big Ten title game. He also stated that a one-loss SEC team should be playing for the BCS championship.

Slive isn’t the only person who will be rooting for the Spartans on Saturday. Auburn and Missouri square off at 4:00 PM EST while Ohio State and Michigan State don’t kick off until 8:17 PM EST. Whichever SEC team wins is sure to be glued to the television all night.

Chip Kelly Names Nick Foles Starter Beyond This Season: “Nick Foles Is The Quarterback For The Next 1,000 Years Here”

Tyler Moorehead

Nick Foles finally got to hear the words that he should have heard weeks ago: he has officially been named the Eagles’ starting quarterback of the future, barring health concerns. Head coach Chip Kelly finally stood by Foles today and announced that he’s the guy:

In nine game appearances this year, Foles has thrown for nearly 1800 yards and 19 touchdowns, with zero interceptions — I think it’s safe to say that he’s earned this.

Some fans rip out a few blades of grass when rushing the field following a huge upset victory as a memento. One Auburn supporter went much further Saturday night. In the video below, you can see a Tigers fan reach over and grab AU coach Gus Malzahn’s visor right off of his head. Malzahn doesn’t even act surprised.

He clearly was able to get it back, but that must have been quite a moment. Who knows what it’d have sold for on eBay.

Auburn’s Chris Davis Got A Standing Ovation In His Geology Class Today

Matt Lombardi

Tigers cornerback Chris Davis is officially getting the celebrity treatment down in Auburn. Davis, who returned a 57-yard missed field goal attempt over 100 yards on the final play against Alabama, claims he was given a standing ovation in his geology class today. Pretty cool.

SEC students and fans continue to show that they’re on another level of fanhood. Davis won’t have much time left for gloating, however, as his Tigers have a date with a revived Mizzou squad this Saturday with the SEC title on the line.

Urban Meyer On Braxton Miller: “I Think He’s Heisman-Worthy” sexandsecretss.blogspot.com

sexandsecretss.blogspot.com ® Urban Meyer On Braxton Miller: “I Think He’s Heisman-Worthy”

After a big win over Michigan this past Saturday, and of course “a bit” of help from Auburn, the Ohio State Buckeyes are in the driver’s seat for a slot in the BCS National Championship Game. However, they can’t look too far ahead, as they have to take care of business in the Big Ten Championship this weekend against a very good Michigan State team.

One reason that Ohio State likes its chances against the Spartans? Quarterback Braxton Miller, who has effectively led the team all season. In fact, Urban Meyer gave Miller some high praise in today’s press conference:

While many would shudder at the thought of Miller being a Heisman candidate because his numbers pale in comparison to those of many other quarterbacks (Johnny Manziel, Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, and even NIU’s Jordan Lynch come to mind), he has kept his team unscathed and has always made the plays he’s needed to in order to get the job done. Meyer also pointed out that he’s been around another Heisman-winning quarterback — Tim Tebow — and he thinks Miller is in the same conversation:

I’m not even sure that Miller is going to be invited to New York City for the Heisman ceremony (at least as of right now), but if Meyer keeps campaigning hard for him, he may have a shot. At the very least, Miller needs to have a monster performance against MSU’s great defense to prove to voters that his head coach has a point.
