Whoever runs the Twitter accounts for both Louie the Cardinal and Sebastian the Ibis did a great job of keeping us entertained this past week leading up to the Russell Athletic Bowl. But now that the game is over and the Cardinals have prevailed, there only seems to be one left talking. Check out the hilarious jab just before the final buzzer sounded during Louisville’s 36-9 victory over Miami.

It’s been a tough day for Hurricanes fans.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel is one heck of a football player. But as evidenced by the below GIF captured by SBNation, his talent does not extend to the basketball court. Manziel flubbed a simple layup during the skills challenge at halftime of the Atlanta Hawks vs. Charlotte Bobcats game Saturday night.

He was not pleased with himself afterwards.

Jesse Palmer may have never been spectacular in the NFL, but he brings a lot to the table as a broadcaster for ESPN. This afternoon he displayed some serious poise and great execution under pressure…when he had to give a choking Chris Fowler the Heimlich maneuver during halftime of the Pinstripe Bowl:

Marquette’s Deonte Burton put in a very solid day of work today, racking up 13 points, four rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and two assists as the Golden Eagles took care of Samford in Milwaukee, 71-48. While he made a number of plays, one in particular stood out — he viciously dunked on Samford’s Emeka Ikezu:

Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray is either a fan of the Syracuse Orange basketball team or a fan of trolling his girlfriend, Kacie McDonnell. McDonnell, who is a reporter for FOX 29 in Philadelphia, posted a photo of the duo wearing Villanova and Syracuse gear as the Wildcats took on the Orange. McDonnell is rooting for hometown VU, while Murray is repping SU.

While not a huge deal, it is a bit strange to see a major college quarterback wearing another school’s apparel. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this from Murray, however.

Notre Dame and Rutgers didn’t light up the scoreboard in today’s New Era Pinstripe Bowl, as the two teams battled with subpar field conditions and stiff winds all day in New York. It was a kickers’ duel between the two programs, as Kyle Brindza and Kyle Federico combined for eight field goals on the day.

Late in the fourth quarter, Rutgers had a chance to make things interesting, trailing by 10 with just under four minutes to play. Unfortunately for the Scarlet Knights, the drive was over before it ever really got started — quarterback Chas Dodd was intercepted by Dan Fox on the first play, essentially sealing the win for the Irish. Here’s video:

Notre Dame managed to tack on another field goal on the ensuing possession, and the Irish went on to win, 29-16.
