Harvey Updyke, the crazy Alabama fan who poisoned Auburn’s Toomer’s Oaks, knows he has to pay the price for his crimes. However, he is still waiting to find out just how great that price is.
The state originally requested that Updyke pay $1.042 million in restitution. Today, that request was increased to $1.3 million today:
Updyke’s attorneys already found that the $1.042 million was an “unduly excessive, burdensome” amount, so they surely won’t be pleased with the new request. The hearing to determine what he’ll actually have to pay will take place next Wednesday , September 18th.
