The UCLA Bruins received terrible news this past weekend — walk-on wide receiver Nick Pasquale was struck by a car when crossing the street in San Clemente. He later passed away.
Of course, everyone who knew Pasquale is absolutely devastated — Jim Mora spoke out about the loss:
“This is a tragic loss. Nick was an outstanding young man who had a positive impact on everyone who knew him. He was a great teammate who was loved and respected by his entire team. Our thoughts are with the Pasquale family.”
As a tribute and a sign of respect, Nebraska, UCLA’s opponent this upcoming weekend, will don the number “36″ on the team’s helmets — Pasquale’s number.
This is a pretty classy move by the Cornhuskers, and one that I’m sure the UCLA players will really respect.
