Eric LeGrand is one of the most famous figures in college football. He is the former Rutgers play who tragically broke his neck on the football field and ended up paralyzed. However, he has remained incredibly positive and taken on an inspirational role to many people — he has signed many endorsement deals , does public speaking, and often weighs in on pressing issues in the sport.
Today, he had his ’52′ jersey retired by Rutgers, and he was honored on the field. Afterward, LeGrand talked to the media, and of course, he was incredibly grateful. Here’s what he had to say, via Rutgers Athletics:
That’s quite an honor — congratulations, Eric.
