The Georgia Bulldogs had a tough Saturday night. Not only did the SEC East favorites lose their opener to Clemson, but numerous players got beat up in the process. Sadly, the most serious injury of all may have come on a touchdown celebration in the first quarter.

Stud wideout Malcolm Mitchell sprinted down the field to catch up to teammate Todd Gurley, who had just run for a 75-yard touchdown. The two, along with junior wide receiver Chris Conley, jumped up to do a “bump” in the end zone – a typical football celebration these days. But Mitchell landed awkwardly, and though he played it off at the time, he injured his knee, according to The Macon Telegraph’s Seth Emerson.

Here’s the video. You can see Mitchell land a bit awkwardly. You can also see him look down at his knee a second or two later, seemingly realizing what’s just happened.

It should be noted that Mitchell tore his meniscus this April and had surgery to repair the damage. Hopefully he hasn’t aggravated that same injury.
