We thought that A.J. McCarron might be the quarterback to make waves on Day 3 of SEC Media Days, but Zach Mettenberger of LSU has taken the reigns. He began the day by ripping Tim Tebow , and he just gave us a second particularly interesting soundbite.
All of the SEC media members have been asking the quarterbacks for their thoughts on Jadeveon Clowney, the SEC’s defensive Heisman contender for 2013. Some quarterbacks have said they have great respect for Clowney, while others have gone in a different direction . However, Mettenberger just admitted he is outright scared of Clowney with this gem of a quote:
This is pretty funny. While the SEC media voters have no problem getting on Clowney’s bad side , Mettenberger figured it was better not to join them — I think that’s probably a good decision.
