The ugly Vanderbilt sex crimes case continues to shed light on a number of players that represented one of the most well-respected programs in college sports.
On June 23rd, an alleged assault and rape took place in a Vanderbilt dormitory — investigation of the incident is still ongoing, but head coach James Franklin has since dismissed several players from the team. Today, another player has been indicted on charges in the case — wide receiver Chris Boyd.
According to a report by the Tennessean :
Boyd, 21, is charged with one felony count of being an accessory after the fact. He is essentially accused of taking part in an attempted cover up of the sexual assault through his advice to certain defendants who were indicted last week. Boyd’s representatives have been made aware of the indictment. He is expected to surrender. Criminal Court Judge Steve Dozier set Boyd’s bond at $25,000.
Two other men were also indicted today, although they were not associated with the Vanderbilt program.
Boyd was the leading receiving for Vanderbilt in 2012.
