Johnny Manziel Says He Won’t Make NFL Decision Until After Bowl Game
Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel isn’t ready to talk about the NFL just yet, even if the rest of us all assume that his decision is a foregone conclusion. The former Heisman Trophy winner told reporters this afternoon that he’ll wait until after the Aggies’ Chick-fil-A Bowl matchup with Duke to make his decision. The news runs contradictory to a report from just a few weeks ago that stated that Manziel’s decision would come prior to the team’s bowl game.
As Dan Wolken makes note of, there aren’t many who believe that Manziel will stick around for his third year of eligibility. Manziel’s college career, while fantastic on the field, has been filled with controversy off it. That, combined with the fact that Manziel seems to be relatively healthy, puts the smart money on him moving on this after the season ends.
