While the University of Alabama has enjoyed another stellar football season in 2013, Nick Saban is going to have to go back to the drawing board to try to help get his team back in national championship game next time around. For Saban, replacing AJ McCarron and improving the offense is going to be his big task — the offense finished 17th in points during this year’s regular season, holding back an excellent defense that finished second overall.
Saban is open to suggestions for how to “fix” the offense, and he’s actually bringing in an interesting person to Tuscaloosa this week to help him evaluate his team, per ESPN’s Brett McMurphy:
Now keep in mind, coaches across all levels visit different teams, programs, and organizations in the offseason as they look for ways to improve their own teams, so this isn’t really a huge deal. But it is interesting to hear that Saban is looking to Kiffin for advice, or at least a different perspective on how he could possibly approach his offense moving forward.
