The final game in Floyd Casey Stadium was a fantastic one for Baylor. The Bears clinched the Big 12 conference title by beating the Texas 30-10 in Waco, a perfect cap to a great regular season.
The game wasn’t decided until late in the fourth quarter. Texas was still clinging to still hopes of a comeback, and the Longhorns were in Baylor territory trailing 23-10 with five minutes to play. However, the Bears’ K.J. Morton ended those hopes with a beautiful interception that he returned to the end zone:
Unfortunately for Baylor, the play was ruled dead at the three-yard line and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was issued to Ahmad Dixon. But the Bears ran the next play in for a touchdown anyway, so no harm was done.
Congratulations to Baylor for winning the Big 12 title.
