Baylor’s Scott Drew On Iowa State: “A Team That Can Win A National Championship”
Following an 87-72 to #10 Iowa State, Baylor head coach Scott Drew heaped praise on the Big 12 rival Cyclones:
Senior guard DeAndre Kane had an amazing game for Iowa State, pacing the team with 30 points and nine assists, and adding eight rebounds and five steals to his score sheet.
Iowa State is one of the best stories in college basketball so far this year. The Cyclones are 14-0 and ranked #7 in the Coaches’ Poll and #9 in the AP.
The Baylor win is their third against a Top 25 opponent this season, after the team beat then-7th ranked Michigan in November, and intrastate rival Iowa on December 13. Fred Hoiberg’s team has another great challenge next Monday when they will host #18 Kansas. They have looked about as good as any team in the country so far this year, but time will tell if Drew’s evaluation holds up.
