FSU DT Timmy Jernigan On Beating The SEC: “We Proved Those Guys Aren’t Gods”
Tonight’s BCS National Championship Game was one for the ages , resulting in a 34-31 victory for the Florida State Seminoles over the Auburn Tigers. The win was also an enormous one for the college football world outside of the SEC — the Southeastern Conference’s seven-year national title streak has finally ended.
Florida State’s star defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan was particularly proud of being part of the team, and the conference, that ended the streak — he talked about the ACC knocking off the SEC after the win:
I think it goes without saying that many fans across the country feel the same way as Jernigan, and are glad to see that the SEC can indeed be defeated. Be proud of that accomplishment, Timmy, it’s a huge one.
