Mark Richt On Adding Jeremy Pruitt To UGA Staff: “I’m Ecstatic”
In discussing the addition of Florida State’s National Championship-winning defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt to his staff, Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt is a man of few words:
Pruitt’s departure from Florida State comes as a major surprise in lieu of the win over Auburn, and the fact that it was his first season as a defensive coordinator, but he seems ready to take on this new challenge:
“This is an outstanding professional and personal opportunity,” said Pruitt. “I’m looking forward to meeting the current players and getting on the road to visit with recruits.”
Pruitt takes over a defense that ranked 44th in yardage per game, but surrendered 29 points for game, which ranked 79th among FBS teams. The jump to the SEC will definitely provide the young coordinator with a great week-to-week challenge.
