While Kentucky will forever be a basketball school, you have to admit that it is certainly putting in the effort to become competitive in football as well. UK made a big hire before this past season, bringing in former Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops as its head coach, and although the Wildcats failed to win an SEC game in 2013, he has done a great job at recruiting for the future. At Saturday’s hoops game between UK and Tennessee, Stoops was on-hand to support the Wildcats and remind everyone of the work the football program is putting in. Per tradition, he made the “Y” in “Kentucky” at midcourt during a media timeout.
Only time will tell if Stoops can get fans as excited about football as they consistently are about basketball. Supporting Coach Cal and his boys is certainly a good look.
