Tonight, the Northwestern Wildcats are hosting Purdue in Evanston for a Big Ten showdown, but the Boilermakers won’t find themselves treated with any disrespect or heckling. The Northwestern student body will be supporting its opponent following the tragic shooting that occurred on Purdue’s campus this afternoon — a number of students have even painted up to spell out “Stand With Purdue.”
This is a very kind gesture by the Northwestern students — props to them for recognizing that sometimes other things are more important than sports.
