This past weekend’s Drexel-Northeastern matchup was an an exciting one (Drexel won 93-88) but the best part of it actually occurred during a stoppage of play. During one of the breaks, Drexel brought out a student, Gary Diegert, for the classic half-court challenge: all Gary had to do was hit one half-courter in the allotted time to win a year’s worth of free Jimmy John’s subs. Of course, we wouldn’t be showing you this video if he didn’t come up clutch — right before time expired (and after some ugly attempts), he managed to stroke one for the big prize. He celebrated accordingly:
That wasn’t quite as cool as when College Spun’s very own Casey Murdock nailed a half-courter for 18-grand at Notre Dame, but it was still pretty fantastic. Make sure you get a gym membership, Gary.
