Over the past week, numerous reports surfaced that Floyd Mayweather Jr., the famed boxer and known gambler, put a cool $10.4 million bet down on the Denver Broncos -2 to the win Super Bowl XLVIII. While this is an enormous amount to bet, many people didn’t put it past him — however, he squashed those rumors tonight after the game:
Somebody lied to you all. If I was going to bet, I would have bet on the Seattle Seahawks. I’m the best defensive fighter, it’s only right to go with the best defensive team.
Well, that settles it, and it’s probably a good thing that he didn’t actually make that bet. His wallet would have been seriously hurting.
