Mark Helfrich Compares Losing Top Recruit To His Wife Missing On George Clooney
Oregon missed out on top recruit Juju Smith today. The five-star athlete selected USC over Oregon, as well as Notre Dame and UCLA. Ducks coach Mark Helfrich doesn’t seem to be too beat up about it though, cracking this joke when asked about losing out in the recruiting battle to his Pac-12 rival:
Landing Smith would have been a coup for Oregon, who tried to steal the top-ranked Safety out of Long Beach, but the Ducks should be okay. 247Sports has Oregon’s class ranked 21st in the country. It’s hard to worry too much about the Ducks being good going forward.
