Video: Dan Dakich Can Barely Contain His Emotions After Son Enters Game For Michigan
ESPN college basketball announcer Dan Dakich had one of those ‘proud father’ moments Saturday afternoon. With just under one minute to play, his son, Andrew, checked in for the Wolverines during their blowout loss to Iowa. It was the first time that Dakich was on the call while his son, a freshman walk-on who virtually gets no playing time, was actually in a game. Dakich couldn’t stop smiling. He also acknowledged how happy he was for his son.
Dakich has appeared in nine games this season, but hasn’t played more than four minutes in any of them. Props to Michigan coach John Beilein for making this happen.
