Texas A&M, down three touchdowns heading into the second half, needed a spark to stay within striking distance against Duke. Johnny Manziel came to the rescue, yet again. Manziel eluded multiple defenders (it even looked like he’d been tackled at one point) en route to yet another amazing touchdown pass – this time a 19-yard toss to Travis Labhart.

The score cut the Blue Devils’ lead to 14 – we’ll see if the play pumps life into the Aggies.

The Kid’s kid is doing big things. In the second quarter of today’s AdvoCare V100 Bowl, Arizona Wildcats freshman Trey Griffey, son of former baseball star Ken Griffey Jr., caught his first collegiate touchdown pass. The score came on a beautiful 26-yard toss from quarterback B.J. Denker.

Arizona leads Boston College 21-6 at the half.

The University of Wisconsin is going all-out in support of the Green Bay Packers right now. This past weekend, the Badgers football team gathered together to watch the Packers take on the Chicago Bears for the NFC North title, and the video of the team’s reaction to Green Bay’s game-winning touchdown has gone viral — the players were ecstatic. Now, the Wisconsin men’s basketball team has decided to accommodate Packers fans by moving this Sunday’s game against Iowa back half an hour so it won’t overlap with the end of the NFL game.

Per the Wisconsin athletics site :

The Big Ten Conference announced Monday evening that the tip off time for the Wisconsin vs. Iowa men’s basketball game on Sunday, Jan. 5 has been moved to 7 p.m. (CT). The game at the Kohl Center was originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (CT). It will still be televised by the Big Ten Network.

The Packers will host the San Francisco 49ers at 3:40 Central time, so fans should be able to watch that whole game before tuning in to the Badgers next. This is a seriously cool move by Wisconsin if you ask me, and one that is sure to please fans.

Kliff Kingsbury and the Red Raiders are giving the Arizona State Sun Devils everything they can handle right now in the National University Holiday Bowl. Texas Tech lost its last five games of the regular season but has come out extremely motivated, looking to end the season on a good note.

One person in particular who is loving the show that that TTU is putting on is Johnny Manziel. Manziel, of course, worked extensively with Kingsbury last season when Kliff was the offensive coordinator for Texas A&M — the two still maintain a pretty strong relationship . Johnny took to Twitter to support the Red Raiders:

It’s pretty cool to see the love that Manziel still displays for his former coach, and we won’t be surprised to see Kingsbury cheer on the Aggies hard in the upcoming Chick-fil-A Bowl.

We’ve seen some amazing new uniforms this college football postseason, but what Texas Tech just unveiled might be the best yet. Under Armour’s Michael McBride has just posted photos of the new helmet that the team will be wearing later tonight against Arizona State in the Holiday Bowl. The new lid his red numbers on one side with the Masked Rider riding Raider Red on the other.

No matter how hard I try or how much college football I watch, I’ll never be as good at picking games as Hadiah, the Sumatran Tiger at the Phoenix Zoo. Hadiah makes several bowl picks each year (she correctly predicted the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl three days ago) and she’s crazily accurate — of course, she had to pick this year’s Fiesta Bowl matchup between UCF and Baylor that will be played in Glendale.

Two boxes, labeled with team logos, were set out in her exhibi. Both were filled equally with fish and other meat — whichever team’s box she elects to eat from tends to perform pretty well. Here’s her Fiesta Bowl pick:

In other animal bowl-picking news, Flipper the dolphin has picked Clemson over Ohio State in the Orange Bowl.

Report: Washington RB Bishop Sankey Will Enter The NFL Draft

Washington fans are already getting excited about the beginning of the Chris Petersen era, but the Huskies will have to replace one of their best players in 2014. Tonight, ESPN’s Joe Schad is reporting that star running back Bishop Sankey will enter the NFL Draft following the season:

Sankey rushed for 1870 yards and 20 touchdowns this season — he is ranked as the third-best running back prospect in the country according to NFLDraftScout.com .

Here’s A Heartwarming Photo Of Nick Saban Getting His Nails Done At The Children’s Hospital

Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s general persona often rubs reporters and fans the wrong way. But beneath the surface, he’s not such a bad guy. The below photo, taken at the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, shows Saban volunteering his time by getting his nails painted by one of the patients. It’s a rare heartwarming moment from the leader of the Crimson Tide.

As you’d imagine, the pic has been going viral on Twitter. Alabama takes on Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl this Thursday.

Oregon Releases Motivational Video Shown To Its Players Ahead Of Alamo Bowl

Oregon does its motivational videos like it does its cleats – flashy. Check out the awesome four-minute clip the program put together for its players to watch ahead of their Alamo Bowl matchup with Texas. It’ll make Ducks fans forget all about the disappointing (a relative term) season the team had on the field.

The Ducks and Longhorns will square off at 6:45 PM EST Monday night.

Arizona State Releases Hype Video Ahead Of Holiday Bowl Showdown

The Arizona State Sun Devils may not be playing in the Rose Bowl like they’d wanted to, but they’re still pretty excited about facing off with Texas Tech in the National Holiday Bowl Monday night. ASU had a solid season, notching double-digit victories along the way to an appearance in the Pac-12 title game. Today, the Sun Devils released a five-minute hype video with highlight from the season to get fans excited for the game.

NFL.com Analyst Reports That Johnny Manziel, Mike Evans Will Enter NFL Draft

According to NFL.com analyst Gil Brandt, Texas A&M stars Johnny Manziel and Mike Evans will declare for the 2014 NFL Draft after the team’s matchup with Duke on New Year’s Eve. If true, the Chick-fil-A Bowl will be the last time we see the two Aggies lace it up as collegiate athletes.

Most analysts and fans expect both players to move on after this season, considering they’re projected to be drafted in the first round next April. It’s possible that each is chosen highest for his respective position.

…and we’re almost at viral status with the #NaeNae dance. We saw Notre Dame’s players celebrate with it after their victory over Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl. We saw players from both Oregon and Texas integrate it into a dance-off between the programs. Now, we’ve got the head coach at North Carolina getting in on the action. Check out Larry Fedora’s moves following the Tar Heels’ Belk Bowl win over Cincinnati.

Someone must have shown Fedora the instructional video, because he’s doing it correctly. Props, I think.

The state of Wisconsin is celebrating tonight – including the football players for the state university – after Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers knocked off the Chicago Bears to win the NFC North. Check out the scene at the Badgers’ hotel room as Rodgers found Randall Cobb for a 48-yard score late in the fourth quarter.

Tough times for the lone Bears fan wearing the Matt Forte jersey. Wisconsin hopes for a similar result at the Capital One Bowl against South Carolina later this week.

Two weeks ago, Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron shocked many Crimson Tide fans when he said that he would be supporting Auburn in the BCS National Championship Game, going as far as saying he “might wear orange and blue.” Sure, fans of the SEC are all about supporting their conference, but Alabama fans, and certainly players, aren’t allowed to pull for Auburn, right?

Wrong, at least according to McCarron . McCarron and Auburn’s Tre Mason spent a few days together ahead of this year’s Heisman Trophy presentation in New York City, and the two hit it off well . In fact, Mason impressed the whole McCarron family, and it appears that AJ’s mother Dee Dee is now a huge Tre Mason fan. Check out the shirt she’ll even be wearing for the national title game:

I hope AJ decides to don one of these too — that really would be Tre-mendous.

Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins, also a former Kentucky Wildcat, isn’t afraid to mix it up both on and off the basketball court. Upon hearing that UK defeated arch-rival Louisville Saturday afternoon, Cousins took to Facebook to poke a little bit of fun at the Cardinals. He posted a photo from their matchup during the 2009-2010 season, during which he hit Jared Swopshire with a forearm to the face.

Teddy Bridgewater: “What A Way To Go Out, Against My Hometown School”

At this point, most college football fans expect that Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will be taking his talents to the NFL next season. Saturday night, after leading his Cardinals to a dominating 36-9 victory over Miami (FL), he may have slipped up and let us all know his intentions a little early. In the below video, Bridgewater proclaims “what a way to go out, against my hometown school.” He later backtracks and says that he’ll have to make the decision later on.

Bridgewater lit it up for the Cardinals, throwing for 447 passing yards and three touchdowns. If this was his final collegiate game, he certainly went out in style.
