Tulane’s first bowl appearance since 2002 didn’t go exactly as planned by the Green Wave, but it was one seriously entertaining game. Louisiana-Lafayette got off to an incredible start and blew open a 21-0 early in the second quarterback, but Tulane hadn’t come this far to simply roll over. The Green Wave fought back admirably, tying the game 21-21 in the third quarter after Orleans’ Darkwa’s third touchdown run of the day.

Early in the fourth quarter, kicker Hunter Stover gave the Ragin’ Cajuns a three-point lead with a 27-yard field goal that ended up being the game-winner. In the game’s final seconds, Tulane’s Cairo Santos had a shot to tie it up with a kick from 48 yards out, but unfortunately for the Green Wave, it sailed a bit left. Here’s video of the kick, via ESPN:

Congratulations to the Ragin’ Cajuns, the 2013 New Orleans Bowl champions.
