Washington State fans aren’t going to forget this one for a long, long time. The Cougars led for all but the last 33 seconds of the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, but unfortunately for them, it’s not how you start, but how you finish. After allowing Colorado State to tied the game on Statue of Liberty two-point conversion in the game’s final minute, Washington State proceeded to fumble the following kickoff to hand the ball to the Rams for the win. CSU kicker Jared Roberts calmly stepped to the field and drilled a 41-yard field goal to give his team the 48-45 victory:
If all of the bowl games end like this one, we’re going to be in for an insane couple of weeks.
