The college sports story of the week has definitely been Sports Illustrated‘s five-part report on Oklahoma State football, titled ‘The Dirty Game’, which was created to expose the darker side of athletics: players getting paid, doing drugs, feigning academics, and more. There has been a lot of backlash at the report, and many reporters are questioning the credibility of the reports and its writers.
Of course, Oklahoma State University must be the most irritated — it is the main target and receiving a ton of bad publicity. In a sign of frustration and disagreement, the school’s newspaper, The Daily O’Collegian , released a special covered for today’s issue — ‘Barely Illustrated’.
