Video: Dan Dakich When His Son Entered Game: “Will Teddy Valentine Foul Him Out?”
This past Saturday, ESPN college basketball analyst Dan Dakich made headlines after ripping official Ted Valentine during his call of the Michigan State vs. Illinois game. Dakich insulted Valentine, who had gotten into it earlier in the day with Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin, claiming that if he’d been the coach in the situation, he’d have “knocked him out”. He also said that he “can’t understand” why he has a job.
Oddly enough, Valentine was working the game that Dakich was calling tonight – Michigan vs. Illinois. With around two minutes to play, Dakich’s son Andrew, who is a reserve for the Wolverines, entered the game. Dakich couldn’t resist throwing another jab at Valentine.
As you can see, Mike Tirico loved it. ESPN’s brass – well, I’m not so sure there.
