Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin is out to ruin everyone’s fun — mainly, it appears that he has Twitter-banned Johnny Manziel. In his SEC Media Days press conference today, Sumlin mentioned numerous times that he “had a discussion” with Manziel after his Twitter outburst earlier this offseason after he received a parking ticket.
Sumlin said that “there was something to the conversation”, because Johnny Manziel hasn’t tweeted since June 15th. While he didn’t explicitly mention that he “banned” Manziel, it is apparent that Sumlin didn’t approve of his frequent social media use.
All in all, it was probably a good move by Sumlin — minimizing Manziel’s exposure (as if that’s possible) is an absolute must right now. However, it appears that Manziel can still create drama even without taking to Twitter.
