Auburn is still a legitimate national title contender, and the Tigers just showed why by demonstrating some extreme resiliency against the Georgia Bulldogs. Auburn trailed 38-37 with less than two minutes to save their season following Aaron Murray’s third touchdown of the quarter. The offense took the field with confidence, but the comeback drive didn’t start off the way they had hoped — after three plays, the Tigers were facing a 4th &18 on their own 27. What happened next was one of the most unfathomable plays you’ll ever see.
Nick Marshall dropped back and threw an absolute bomb down the middle. He overthrew wide receiver Ricardo Louis by several yards, and the ball landed in the outstretched arms of two Georgia defensive backs. However, the UGA defenders were fighting for the ball and it popped forward several yards — into the hands of Louis who had never broken stride. The result was a 73-yard, possibly season-changing touchdown:
