James Franklin On Joe Paterno: “We Are Proud And Honored To Add On To The Foundation He Built”
Today is the two-year anniversary of the passing of legendary Penn State head coach Joe Paterno, whose legacy continues to be discussed in various contexts both in State College and on a national scale. Paterno’s successor, Bill O’Brien, appeared to have a hard time always dealing with the fervent pro-Paterno Penn State supporters, and many of those frustrations came out late in his tenure as head coach.
On the other hand, new coach James Franklin seems to be doing all he can to appeal to the entire Penn State fanbase, and today sent out a tweet remembering Paterno:
Ultimately, Franklin will be judged by wins and losses at Penn State, but saying the right things is a good way to start in his first offseason.
