Today, the University of Louisville officially announced that it would be bringing back Bobby Petrino to be the new head football coach following the departure of Charlie Strong to Texas. Of course, a number of questions surround the hire and Petrino himself — he has been known to bolt from job to job , and for years it was said that he left the Cardinals program in shambles following his abrupt departure. Athletics director Tom Jurich stepped to the podium to address the move this morning, and he was adamant that this is a “new” Bobby Petrino:
Of course, only time will tell if Louisville is really the place that Petrino wants to be, but the new coach insists that this is his destination job:
Louisville fans, welcome back to the Bobby Petrino era. Petrino was 41-9 in his first stint with the university.
