If only it were this easy. Monday on Twitter, the Portland Trail Blazers and Indiana Pacers agreed to play in this year’s NBA Finals in June. Really.
Whoever runs Portland’s Twitter account tweeted a photo of a set of various power rankings, all which had the Pacers ranked No. 1 and the Trail Blazers ranked No. 2, asking Indiana if they’d be seeing them in June. The Pacers agreed.
It’s been quite some time since either franchise actually reached the NBA Finals. The Pacers last qualified in 2000, while the Trail Blazers haven’t played for a title since 1992. Something tells me there will be a few other teams in the mix trying to make sure this “deal” doesn’t actually work out.
