Kirk Herbstreit On Nick Saban Going To Texas: “There’s No Chance Of That Happening”
Will this come down?
As the Nick Saban-to-Texas rumor mill continues to churn, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit has offered Alabama fans a bit of a reprieve. Herbstreit went on KESN 103.3 yesterday to chat about the future of Alabama’s current head coach, and made a very definitive statement about what he thinks is going to happen. From dallasnews.com:
“There’s no chance. No chance of that happening. Nick Saban will work TV sitting next to us on our set before he’ll be the head coach at Texas. He’ll be at Alabama for another five years, and then he’ll be working TV after that. I know Nick Saban better than anybody. It’s not going to happen.”
Saban did fit in very well on College GameDay last week, so I’m sure the network would love to make room for him on Saturday mornings. Herbstreit is also one of the more trustworthy analysts out there, so his words can’t be discounted. We’ll find out soon enough what Saban plans to do.
