Last night, Southern Illinois lost to Murray State 73-65, dropping the Salukis’ record to 2-8 on the season. Naturally, head coach Barry Hinson is not pleased with the current performance of his team, and he has finally had enough — last night he absolutely blew up in postgame press conference.
His references are just pure comedy gold — he explodes about how awful his team is, how he thinks the players are soft and mama’s boys, how his wife could score more efficiently, how he thought a SWAT team was in the building last night because he players kept falling over, and how he thought his team was essentially giving Christmas gifts to Murray State, because of how often it was turning the ball over. Oh, he also dropped a great “size doesn’t matter” line — basically, this was the best coaching rant of the year, hands down.
