When the news broke this afternoon that Steve Sarkisian would be leaving the University of Washington to return to USC , the college football world was shocked. Many believe that Sarkisian’s resume doesn’t merit consideration for the job (he is 34-29 as a head coach), and that USC may have caved in and settled for a familiar option.
But even more shocked than general fans were the Washington players who Sarkisian is leaving behind. Several of them took to Twitter to express their displeasure at his departure, and how it was handled:
Some players, however, do understand the move on Sarkisian’s part, and wish him well:
I think Shaq Thompson summed it up well — college [football] is a business, and this is just how it works.
