Brian Kelly Jokes “Must Be A Conspiracy” That ND Isn’t Ranked, Has Irish In His Top 25
Notre Dame had to slug its way through an offensively-challenged game vs. USC yesterday, but managed to to come away with a 14-10 win in South Bend. That moved the Irish to 5-2 on the season, but it was not enough to convince voters that Notre Dame belonged in the Top 25 in either the AP or USA Today Coaches’ Poll.
In his Sunday press conference, head coach Brian Kelly was asked what he thought about his team not being ranked at 5-2 — he gave a great joking response:
There are currently four two-loss teams in the Coaches’ Poll (LSU, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Wisconsin), so it’s not crazy to think that the Irish could have been included. Brian Kelly did mention that he thinks his team should be ranked:
Notre Dame can try to impress the voters again next week when it takes on Air Force at 5:00 on CBS Sports Network.
