Photo: Florida State Shows Off Newest Addition To Sod Cemetery After Win Over Clemson
After a big win last week against Clemson, Florida State wasted no time before commemorating the victory. The Seminoles deemed the win over the Tigers worthy of burial in the school’s Sod Cemetery , and made sure to scoop some soil from Clemson Memorial Stadium for the ritual.
The Sod Cemetery is a longstanding tradition at Florida State where pieces of sod are taken from opponents’ fields after big road victories by the Florida State football program. That sod is then buried outside the gates of FSU’s practice field, along with a plaque that distinguishes the win.
With the way the Seminoles are playing this year, the “late Clemson sod” may not be the last addition to the cemetery in 2013.
