Video: South Carolina Upsets Mizzou After Missed Field Goal In Overtime
Well, this isn’t how Missouri saw its BCS title hopes ending. The Tigers led South Carolina 17-0 after three quarters before giving up 17 unanswered points in the final period at home to the Gamecocks, including a 2-yard game-tying touchdown pass from Connor Shaw to Nick Jones with under three minutes to play. Once in overtime, Missouri and South Carolina traded touchdowns, and the game went to a second extra session.
But while the Gamecocks’ Elliott Fry was able to kick a 40-yard field goal to give his team a 27-24 lead after its possession, Missouri kicker Andrew Baggett was not able to tie the game from 24 yards out, given the chance. Here’s video of the final play, which is sure to be a heartbreaker for Tigers fans.
