Despite High Fetching Price, Football From Game-Winning Auburn TD Will Sit In Lovelace Museum

This may not come as a surprise, but the football that Auburn defensive back Chris Davis ran back 109 yards off of Alabama’s missed field goal attempt as time expired last Saturday is being valued at a fairly high price – $50,000 at the moment, with the possibility of reaching over $100,000, according to Steiner Sports. But the school is not interested in selling it, whatever the price tag. Auburn SID Kirk Sampson made an announcement on Twitter this morning that the ball will go straight to the Jonathan B. Lovelace Hall of Honor, located in the Auburn Athletic Complex.

It’s a good move by the school – recruits visiting campus (many often choose between Auburn and Alabama) will forever be able to see a major piece of Iron Bowl history. That itself may be worth way more than $100,000.
