Oregon Football Players To Face “Disciplinary Actions” After This Video Of A Snowball Fight Goes Viral
Snowball fights always seem like a fun idea at the time, but they usually seem to end badly, don’t they?
At Oregon this past week, Ducks football players and other students organized a giant snowball fight – it was, as always. supposed to be an enjoyable activity. But the below video, shot by The Emerald, shows a number of students (and some student-athletes) getting a little out of control. In the clip, they stop cars driving down the road and pelt them with snowballs. At one point, a former professor even gets out of the car and is treated with zero respect.
Oregon coach Mark Helfrich has seen the clip, and he says punishment is coming – here’s the statement he released on the issue. Per ESPN:
“On Saturday, I was made aware of an incident that occurred Friday afternoon during the snow day involving multiple Oregon students including members of the football team. The behavior exhibited in the video is completely unacceptable and dangerous. We take this matter very seriously and disciplinary actions have begun.”
We’re not sure if that means that any of the players will be suspended for the Ducks’ Alamo Bowl matchup with Texas, but it’s certainly possible. We’ll keep you updated.
