Report: Nick Saban To Work For ESPN For BCS Title Game In Pasadena
While rumors swirl over Nick Saban’s coaching status — will he stay at Alabama or bolt for Texas? — the current coach of the Crimson Tide has made plans for another job, at least for one day. Saban will be working for ESPN to help analyze the BCS National Championship Game in Pasadena on January 6th, per Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated:
This past weekend, Saban appeared on ESPN’s College GameDay and did a fantastic job — he provided great insight and analysis , actually cracked a few jokes and, yes, smiled. In fact, it wouldn’t be a surprise if ESPN made a play for Saban to join its college football crew if he decided to move on from Alabama.
While it’s hard to picture Saban walking away from coaching at this point, he certainly has that option on the table. He’s a surprisingly good fit on television and can bring perspective to the set that not many others can provide — we’ll see what the future brings.
