In late September, Cincinnati Bearcats offensive lineman Ben Flick was tragically killed in an automobile crash in Hanover Township, Ohio. It was announced today by coach Tommy Tuberville that the team will honor Flick’s memory by wearing his number, 77, on a decal for the rest of the season.
The outpouring of support for Flick’s family and friends has been nothing short of amazing. We’ve seen one of Flick’s high school friends write and sing a song about his former teammate. Western Michigan, a school that offered Flick out of high school, will be wearing the Cincinnati logo on its helmets to honor his memory. Cincinnati dedicating its season to Flick is another admirable decision.
