Tennessee fans – whatever Vols gear you currently have in your closet probably won’t be of much use this Saturday. The school, in celebration of its new “smokey gray” uniforms, is asking fans to wear “smokey gray” apparel for the big matchup against Georgia. That’s right, it’s a gray out. Apparently they aren’t asking, either.
I can’t say I’ve ever seen a “gray out” before, but it should produce a different kind of atmosphere. Between the Adidas promo video, the semi-creepy billboard, the locker room wall dedication and now this, the school is all in on these jerseys. We’ll see if they make a difference on Saturday.
