Tennessee Referring To Alabama As “The Red Team” Ahead Of Showdown
The Tennessee Volunteers are in the midst of an eight-game stretch that includes matchups against seven ranked opponents – the biggest being No. 1 Alabama in Tuscaloosa this Saturday. But the Vols are doing all they can to remind themselves that just because their opponents’ jerseys read “Alabama”, they’re just another team on the schedule. The coaching staff and players are referring to the Tide as “the red team” so they don’t buy into the hype. Via 247′s Wes Rucker:

I’m not sure whether Jones’ tactics here will work, but either way, the Vols have been playing some inspired football lately. They almost knocked off Georgia three weeks ago and took down South Carolina this past Saturday. We’ll see if UT can give “the red team” a scare.
