Rutgers dominated the first three quarters of play against SMU, building a 35-14 lead as the matchup entered the final session. But the Mustangs never quit, and were able to score three unanswered touchdowns to send the game to overtime. Due to a missed extra point early in the fourth quarter, SMU was forced to try a two-point conversion to knot the score at 35-35. Garrett Gilbert and Jeremy Johnson provided us one of the best highlights of the day:
