Leading up to the NFL Draft, some of college’s greatest players go through a pretty intense screening process. After all, NFL GMs and coaches want to make sure that they are making a good investment, and therefore they ask thousands of questions — some which have been called way too invasive — in order to help better judge the character of the the players they are about to select.

And they may soon be making the process even more intrusive.

If you thought that having players strip down to just their underwear in order to judge them physically was bad enough, you probably aren’t going to like the NFL’s newest idea. According to Bruce Feldman of CBS, teams may now start hiring police investigators to examine the tattoos of prospects, in wake of the Aaron Hernandez incident. Hernandez reportedly has several tattoos that may be tied to gang activity.

I understand the logic behind examining tattoos for “warning signs”, but this seems to go a bit too far if you ask me. It will be interesting to see whether or not teams actually follow through on this.
