It was just a few weeks ago that we saw Rutgers unveil it’s new metallic grey “R” helmet for its home opener against Norfolk State. This time, they’ve flipped the color scheme. The Scarlet Knights will don metallic red “R” helmets for their AAC opener – their only AAC opener – vs. SMU in Dallas this Saturday. The school tweeted the new this morning:
The new lid is a good look, but is reminds me of another team’s color combo. Let’s hope the Knights don’t wear them when they play Wisconsin once they join the Big Ten in 2014.
