Yesterday was a pretty fantastic day of college football. We were treated to some serious highlight plays , some hard hits , and even a few controversial finishes . Five ranked teams suffered losses — three of those to other ranked teams — so naturally there was going to be some re-ordering in the polls.

Washington and Northwestern both got a little consolation — the pair lost to Stanford and Ohio State respectively, but neither suffered a very large drop. On the other hand, three new teams moved up and entered the poll: Northern Illinois, Virginia Tech, and Missouri.
