Cal’s Athletic Director Calls Bret Bielema’s Comments About Ted Agu “Beyond Insensitive”
College football fans were outraged at Bret Bielema’s comments Thursday night concerning the death of a Cal football player who collapsed during a training run earlier this month. Now, the Bears’ Athletic Director, Sandy Barbour, has taken to Twitter to express her displeasure with Bielema using Ted Agu’s “death certificate” as his main reasoning to pass the proposed NCAA rule changes ahead of next season.
With all this controversy, it’s hard to imagine Bielema’s pleadings will make much of a positive impact in getting this rule passed on March 6th. If anything, we’re starting to wonder if he isn’t doing damage to the proposition and its chances at being given the go-ahead.
