Saturday morning, it was reported by ESPN that the NFL competition committee will soon be voting on a proposed rule change that penalizes players who use the “N-word” during gameplay. It took less than five minutes for the league’s most infamous tweeter, Arizona Cardinals defensive end Darnell Dockett, to weigh in on the idea. He simply says “good luck”.
It’s definitely admirable of the league to try and crack down on the inappropriate language – especially racial slurs – during games. But Dockett is probably right – it’s going to be hard to catch every player committing an infraction.
