Video: Andrew Wiggins Hits Game-Winner For Kansas On Broken Play
It wasn’t the prettiest game-winning bucket in the history of college basketball, but I doubt that Kansas fans will care. Freshman Andrew Wiggins collected a loose ball under Texas Tech’s hoop and made a layup with 1.7 seconds to play to knock off Texas Tech in Lubbock Tuesday night. Center Joel Embiid had lost possession with the Red Raiders leading by one as time wound down.
Texas Tech had one last chance at the win, but a half-court heave was off the mark. It’s a tough loss for a Red Raiders team that has certainly battled this year. The victory for the Jayhawks allowed them to maintain their two-game lead over Texas in the Big 12.
