North Carolina Players Are Bummed About Tonight’s Postponement, Wanted To Play In Front Of All Students
This afternoon, it was announced that college basketball’s best rivalry game, Duke vs. North Carolina, which was supposed to be played tonight in Chapel Hill, would be postponed due to the weather. The game has now been rescheduled for February 20th.
Of course, the players are disappointed — this game gets circled on everyone’s calendars the day the schedule comes out. The Tar Heels are especially disappointed because before the game was officially postponed, it was believed that there was a legitimate possibility of it being a students-only game in the Dean Dome, setting up an absolutely one-of-a-kind rivalry atmosphere. A few of the UNC players had been on Twitter politicking for a students-only crowd tonight, and are bummed that it couldn’t come to fruition:
It really is no fun that this game got cancelled tonight, but it’s a matchup that definitely deserves to be played in front of a packed house. I’m sure that the fans will be ready to go in eight short days.
